Stage Queen

A quiet knock came on the dressing room’s door followed by a quiet voice saying, “Madame you’re on in fifteen.”

Madame La Rouge turned from placing the last touches on her makeup and said, “Thank you, I’ll be out in a moment. Oh! Please have someone have fresh tea and lemon sent to my room for between my sets.”

“Of course, Madame.”

She leaned down and slipped on her shoes, carefully adjusting her stockings as she sat up.

She stood and turned back to the mirror. She stepped back and gave her reflection a close examination. Reaching up she readjusted her small hat making sure the hairpins where holding it firmly on. After some more small touches to straighten the fall of her dress and decorative tail she nodded to her reflection. She drew herself up tall, gathering her regal stage presence about her, and made her way to the stage and her adoring fans.

Hello! I hope everyone is well! ♥ I loved this new dress from Adoness and enjoyed creating Madame La Rouge. The dress was made for Genre’s newest round with a theme of Drag Queens, although I used it more for a Burlesque-ish character. Been quite a while since I have done a story but I hope you enjoyed it. 🙂 Originally, I meant for her to be a Drag Queen character, and if she came across that way instead of Burlesque that is great! So I used a new male pose from Something New for the first photo. I know most Drag Queens are male, however there are some females.

Captive Song

As the sun rose, the stone giant opened the door to a cage and held a palm near the opening. A woman stepped into the offered hand and balanced as the hand moved away from the cage and close to where the giant sat. He let his arm rest in the shallow water and watched the woman intently.

She stood and closing her eyes raised the violin from her side. The sun inched its way into the sky and the heat it brought warmed her. She spread her ravaged wings, sighing at the relief that gave her sore wings, and began to play the song the giant bade her to play each morning as the sun rose. It started as a slow, soft melody and gradually became more cheerful as the sun rose higher.

When she was done, the giant sat still. She knew this was a silent order for more music and began a new song. After a few songs the giant lifted it’s hand back to the cage and as soon as she had closed her wings and stepped inside, it re-locked the cage’s door and left. She moved to a small couch and sat, laying her violin nearby. She pulled her knees to her chest and wrapped her arms around them and stared out over the sunlit water.

Xin and Mesh Heads

She approached the ruined city and knew it would be another ghost town. She could see that nature was overtaking it much like many of the other places she had visited while looking for other survivors. She walked through the streets winding her way through wrecked vehicles. She went inside one of the sturdier looking buildings and made her way to the roof. Sitting on a ledge she looked out over the city hoping to spot a sign of life.

A flicker of red-orange on another roof top caught her eye and she stood in surprise. There was a fire burning, and it wasn’t the building. It was too small to be sure but she thought she could make out what seemed to be a sleeping bag as well. She hurried back down to the street and made her way to the other building. She climbed back up to the roof, this time having to back track and use multiple staircases because of damage to the interior of the building. She passed bullet holes in the walls and blood stains all over and suppressed a shiver of disgust. Finally she made it to the door for the rooftop and pushed it open slowly.

There was a sleeping bag and a small bonfire as well as bottles and empty food cans littering the roof. She stepped towards the fire looking around to find the person who must have made it. Only another survivor could have done it, the mindless creatures the virus had made its victims couldn’t speak let alone remember how to make fire. She noticed a paper tucked under one of the bottles and stooped to free it. It was a note. It was from another survivor to anyone who might find it. They had moved on to the next city, no one was left here. There was two of them a young couple that had escaped the virus and like her were searching for other survivors. They had gone north and would wait in the next city for a week before moving on. She clutched the note tight. It was getting dark, so she settled down and ate some canned beans. She would head north at daybreak and hope to find the couple. Maybe then she wouldn’t be alone anymore. She double checked that her gun was loaded and ready and snuggled down into the sleeping bag. For tonight she would enjoy her temporary safety and the warm fire.

Well that was a surprise. 🙂 I actually wasn’t planning to write a story for this post but I started what was going to be a small description of her finding the ruined city and words just kept coming. I had been looking forward to going and exploring this sim since I began to see pictures of the new build on flickr. Xin did an awesome job! I also wanted to compare my two mesh heads. I have had the slink head Emma for a while and while I like it okay I found it near impossible to find hairbases for. The one I used for this post is the only one I was able to find thanks to a fellow blogger in the SL Blogger Support group. Its not a shaved hairbase, but I used it anyways. I love Adonnes’ hairs and many of them need shaved hairbases. I had been hesitant to get a different mesh head because I was having trouble finding ones I liked that my favorite skin people also make appliers for. Then Lumae, my skin sponsor and favorite skin store, got accepted to make appliers for the LeLutka heads. Still I was indecisive because they are pretty pricey, until they made two wonderful hairs with hairbase appliers for their heads. Cassie is a pretty mohawk type hair with a shaved hairbase, and Ciara is a cornrow hair with a matching hairbase. After seeing Cassie I knew I wanted a Lelutka head. Below I show you a comparison of Slink’s Emma and Lelutka’s Stella. They have the same skin and hair and piercings and all. Stella is on the left and Emma on the right.

They both have their good and bad points but overall I like Stella better. I will still use Emma sometimes I am sure, but Stella is closer to what I like my face to look like. Sadly I don’t really know how to describe why that is.

Little Red Wolf

As you may have noticed I like many styles. However Fantasy and Punk are definitely my favorites. 🙂 So here is my version of punk version of Little Red Riding Hood / Big Bad Wolf.

I didn’t want her to be a grungy punk so much as an elegant one. The jewelry and tattoo along with the hair I think helps with that. 🙂 Below is closeups so you can see all the wonderful details.

Be You

Today I wanted to show off some of the great things I got from a few of my favorite stores. First off the prop I am posed on in the above picture is Exposeur’s Red Light District from the Whore Couture event. It has a lot of nice poses and I love the details on the mesh. My dress is from Razor and also from the Whore Couture event. I love how Razor puts so many options on their stuff. I can change the color and textures of the strings, arm piece, strap part in back, sheer part on back and the shirt itself. The last piece I wanted to highlight were the awesome barbed wire heels from MV. Below is a picture in better light with some closer ups. 🙂
